Validate Pmf 2 Weeks
Finding Product-Market Fit (PMF) is the single most important milestone for any early-stage startup. But most founders approach it the wrong way—spending months writing code instead of validating the problem.
1. The Validation Trap
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that more features equal a better product. The reality is that if you haven't validated the core problem, you're just building a faster horse when people wanted a car. Before you write a single line of code, you need to know exactly who you're building for and what pain point you're solving.
2. Talk to Your Users (Really)
Sending a survey is not talking to users. You need to get on calls. You need to see their facial expressions when they describe their problem. Ask open-ended questions like "walk me through how you currently solve X" rather than "would you pay for Y".
- Identify where they currently spend money
- Find the "duct-tape" solutions they've built
- Listen for emotional triggers
3. The Minimum Viable Test
Instead of building an MVP, build an MVT (Minimum Viable Test). What is the smallest, fastest experiment you can run to prove your riskiest assumption? This could be a landing page, a Figma prototype, or even just a cold email campaign.
